  • Overview

    The Engineering Technician provides electronic support for design, build and repair of electronic products. The Engineering Technician works in a team environment directly with engineers and project managers; troubleshoots and repairs electronic and electromechanical devices; assists with the design and fabrication of test stands, test fixtures and writing of test procedures; assembles and tests new products including circuit boards, electromechanical devices and assemblies, ssembly includes through hole and SMD devices using both hand soldering and reflow techniques; other duties and responsibilities may be required as needed.


    • Design and assemble electrical content for customer products and prototypes and test systems according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronics, using hand and power tools.
    • Draw schematics for test systems and prototypes
    • Research and order parts and maintain inventory for test fixtures and repairs
    • Test electronics units such as test fixtures, prototypes and customer products using standard test equipment and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment
    • Programming test fixture components
    • Other shop duties as required


    • Associates Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience
    • Seven to Ten years of experience in a similar organization or industry
    • Proficiency using computer based data systems such as MS Office, Oracle Xelio soft and AutoCad
    • Experienced in soldering and desoldering both through hole and surface mount components
    • Experienced in troubleshooting, repairing and testing electronics and electromechanical devices.
    • Strong organizational skills and experience filing documentation/paperwork
    • Professional communication skills, including in-person, phone and e-mail
    • Must be able to work in a team or independently


    Preferred Experience

    • Mechanical fabrication skills using basic shop machinery
    • Ability to design and build test fixtures and test systems
    • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
    • Knowledge of Epicor ERP system.
