  • Overview

    The Mechanical Assembler assembles, or rebuilds precise sub-assemblies and machines from engineering drawings for advance welding systems. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. It is not designed to contain a comprehensive or all-inclusive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities.  Other duties may be required.

    Responsibilities

    • Fastens and installs piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, rivet guns, and welding equipment
    • Inspects, operates, and tests completed products to verify functioning and conformance to customer specifications
    • Positions and aligns components for assembly, manually or using hoists
    • Reads and interprets assembly blueprints, schematic drawings, diagrams, work orders, specification manuals, and plans in order to determine material requirements and assembly instructions
    • Removes rough spots, and smooths surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts, using hand tools and power tools
    • Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified
    • Pack finished assemblies for shipment and transport them to storage areas, using hoists or hand trucks
    • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities and to resolve assembly problems.
    • Reworks, repairs, and replaces damaged parts or assemblies
    • Verifies conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
    • Maintains and lubricates parts and components
    • Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses and cloths

    Qualifications

    • Must be willing to work different shifts if required
    • Must be willing to travel if required
    • Must be acclimatized to shop/production environment
    • Self-starter/Initiative
    • Needs good communication skills
    • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
    • Must have blue print reading skills
    • Must have technical knowledge of machine assembly
    • Electrial & Mechanical Aptitude
